Peace At Last

Peace At Last

Sept. 10, 2011 Newsletter

By Ruth Berger

ImageI went into the house where my dear friend’s daughter was dying, to comfort and give aid to her. Instead I found peace and solace. Always the giver, her smile lit up the room. “I am so glad you’re here.” She reached up for a hug.

She was lying on a hospital bed in the living room surrounded by people, young and old, all smiling and praying for her. This was not the usual gathering I’d witnessed in the past when someone was close to death. She looked like a white rose fully bloomed and I decided to call her Rose, the woman who was always helping others, bringing them gifts, but mostly saying the right words to ease their fears.

Do Not Disturb. Meditating!

My mentor said, “Until you reduce your fears of ghosts, you will never become the great psychic you can be. I suggest you take a mediumship class to reduce your fears of ghost.

No Ordinary Healer

“You have to promise me that after I die, you won’t try to communicate with me. I’ve done all I can for others, and now it’s time for me to let go and heal.” Donna pleaded. My dear friend was dying from brain Cancer, and was in a lot of pain. She would have gotten her medical doctor certification, but didn’t have the finances to complete her fourth year of schooling. The brain Cancer came five years after both of her breasts were surgically removed from the disease that ravaged her body.

The Psychic Dilemma

Dana was just three years old when her mother’s best friend wanted to know if she was pregnant. Before her mother Penny could answer, Dana said “Yes!”

Psychic Penny took out her yearly calendar and said to Dana, “I’m going to turn the pages on the calendar and you stop me when you know which month the baby will be born. Dana held the page down on the month the baby was born.

Then Penny said, “I’m going to point to the days of the week and you tell me when to stop.” Once again, Dana knew the right day of the week and what time of the day the child would be born.

Can the Dead Influence the Living

Linda wished her husband were still alive, even though it had been five years since his death. What she didn’t know was that Ivan was awakened from his heavenly slumber each time she thought this. “I’m here,” he would say, but she didn’t hear him.

Daughter Amy wished her mother wasn’t so sad. She missed her parents’ laughter and affection. Ivan felt his daughter’s depression, which added to his helplessness. He didn’t know what to do. He’d wanted to help the two women, but they didn’t hear his thoughts or feel his despair.

Dog Love vs. Human Love

I was invited to perform an ESP demonstration for a Sweet Sixteen Party in a home on the North Shore of Chicago for a small group of 20 or more teenagers. who wanted to hear my psychic thoughts about their futures.

Just as I was about to begin speaking, the ugliest ugly Wire Haired Dachshund dog waddled in with his chin on the floor. He sat by the door as if he was waiting for someone.

"Why is your dog so sad," I asked the birthday girl?

A Message from the Other Side.

My friend Vera asked me to conduct her late husband's Barney's memorial service.

I was used to telling stories about people, before and after they died, but wasn't sure how an audience of 100 people would handle my openness towards life after life. Would they be delighted or bewildered by me saying things like, "I can see Barney," and finally at the closing I did say Barney wanted me to say thank you for all coming.
